MTVH conducting pre-tender market engagement for future contract on ProcureCo

Fire safety system

ProcureCo is excited to announce that Metropolitan Thames Valley Housing (MTVH) is running a pre-tender market engagement group – for its upcoming fire remediation works framework contract – on the platform.

MTVH, one of the UK’s largest housing associations, has approximately 150 fire remediation works projects in its procurement pipeline for the coming five to seven years. Planning is underway for its fire remediation works framework contract which is the subject of the pre-tender market engagement activities that the MTVH procurement team is currently undertaking on ProcureCo.

MTVH is currently seeking suppliers with experience in fire safety remediation and compliance with the Building Safety Act (2022) to engage with its procurement manager about the future contract, which will cover London, the South East, and the East Midlands. MTVH is looking to procure the works in a format that will be inclusive of SMEs and microbusinesses, with a range of contract values from £100K to over £2m.

MTVH is using a bespoke ProcureCo group to connect and communicate directly with interested suppliers about this future contract. Some of the communications will take place on a one-to-one basis, enabling suppliers to discuss confidential information with the MTVH procurement team. All essential project information will be shared in the group feed, where all group members can access it.

MTVH’s Director of Procurement & Sustainability, Emma Briggs, recognises the great potential of using the ProcureCo platform for pre-tender market engagement ahead of the rollout of the new procurement regime, established by the Procurement Act (2023), which is due to take place on 28 October:

“It’s more important than ever that we connect with suppliers to enhance our relationships and maximise opportunities to share and collaborate to achieve the most value for all parties. As buyers, we need to build our awareness and knowledge within key supplier markets. Suppliers too, should take every opportunity to learn about the new Act and how it will offer them opportunities to partner with public sector clients.”

How do ProcureCo groups work?

One of the standout features of the ProcureCo platform is its groups, designed to facilitate connections between buyers and suppliers. ProcureCo groups serve as dynamic spaces for a range of activities, including:

  • networking
  • discussions on procurement topics such as social value, and
  • pre-tender market engagement.

Procurement teams can set up pre-tender market engagement groups on ProcureCo (as MTVH are doing) to engage with suppliers interested in specific future contracts – well before the tenders are published.
